Summer has come to an end, but I'm still in denial. Granted, it's easy to be in denial when it's still 98 degrees outside (hence the shorts).  Lately,  I've been on a shopping spree. I don't know if it's the end of the season that inspired me or what, but I've decided that since I have such a hard time shopping I was going to make a list of 3 things I need to construct a cute outfit. Here was my list:

1) Black every day boots with a heel. I'm not one to wear massive heels all the time, but being short, a little heel that is comfortable and easy to walk in is really nice. Plus, I really believe they make my legs look longer and shapelier. I found these perfect Jeffrey Campbell boots at Wasteland.

2) A bowler hat. A little while ago, my dad was playing a show and asked me to hold his hat for a second, naturally I took a selfie with it and then decided that I wanted a hat like that of my own. I kind of forgot about it and then a couple weeks ago I asked my mom where that hat was and if I could have it and she told me that it was my dad's wedding hat. So I backed off. I made a trip out to Topshop at the Grove and found a hat very similar to my dad's for just $10. I was sold!

3) Lastly, I always need new tops. I had a credit on Nastygal.com, and they always have really cute tops. I was super excited when I found this top with the tie. It could be dressed up or dressed down which is exactly what I needed. I mean pretty much all I own is band tees, so it was about time. 

All together I created this outfit. Sometimes I think it makes shopping more fun when you have a list of items to look for. I feel like it gives me more of a purpose, and I get excited when I find the perfect match. What have you been looking for lately?

After a long and agonizing search for Kat Von D's blue "Poe" lipstick, I finally have one! It was the last one left in Sephora, which made it feel all that much more satisfying. I celebrated for a little bit and then reluctantly found this awesome blue faux leather jacket from Forever 21. Shh it's totally not Forever 21, but it is... Even though I really didn't need another leather jacket, I've never had a BLUE one.... As a result, this outfit was inspired by my very blue shopping spree I had this week, but not in a smurf way... more like a blue meanie way. Whatever that means....

A couple weeks ago I had the amazing opportunity to work with a cool new website called The Style Club. I was lucky enough to style each of my own looks to put together a feature for their website! It was a lot of fun to work with some new clothes that i'm not sick of staring at in my closet. These past few weeks have been CRRRAAZY!!! Not only did I score a job at one of my favorite stores, Topshop, but it was also my birthday! First of all, thank you so much to all my friends and family for making my birthday so special. I had a great day and I really felt the love from everyone. Secondly, I did a photo shoot yesterday with my boyfriend Keelan as the photographer and his sister/my friend Summer as the makeup and hair stylist! Summer recently graduated from the Paul Mitchell school and she is awesome (I mean look at that smokey eye, I could never do that!) ALSO, how could I forget to give a shout out to my mom for my out of this world birthday present... my new Saint Laurent leopard booties.

This post is dedicated to RECYCLING! I'm not much of a thrift shopper, but when I do Wasteland is my favorite place to go. I'm just not very patient and have a hard time sifting through clothes for hours, but I can always count on Wasteland to have a good selection (plus it's not overwhelming). Recently I found out about this awesome jewelry line called Urban Lace who make their jewelry out of recycled bicycle inner tubes! I was immediately drawn to their Siren bracelet, because I thought it was kind of punk and looked like fish net tights. After getting this bracelet, I was inspired to put together a recycled look. This outfit head-to-toe (with the exception of the jewelry) is entirely thrifted from Wasteland. I also got this really awesome motorcycle ring from Frisk Jewelry (not recycled) but wanted to show that off because it's pretty rad too!!

For this outfit I decided to channel my motorcycle/rock n' roll heritage. My dad is an avid motorcycle rider as well as a huge Stones fan, so you can say even my dad has some influence on my style... I guess not many other people can say that! A couple weeks ago I raided Forever 21 and picked up a few cool crop tops (2 of them being Stones tops). Whenever I go into a big store like Forever 21, I have to go in with an objective. This time I wanted to find summery tops (because even though it's spring it feels like summer here in la). By narrowing down my shopping criteria, I was able to find tons of cute tops for cheap!! 

I guess you could say Forever 21 is my guilty pleasure... BUT has anyone else noticed how many cool band shirts they have!? I think I bought all my favorite KISS shirts from Forever 21.
