Keepin it casual this week... I just got this new LNA top and I love it. Their tops are so comfortable, but still cool. I don't know about you, but for some reason I always have a hard time shopping for tops or even just finding cute ones in my closet. My drawer is busting open from all my band tees, yet I can't find any top I want to wear. I like LNA because their tops are basic, yet still have a cool flare that can stand alone with a pair of jeans. This top could be dressed up with a blazer or dressed down with a denim or leather jacket. As for these See By Chloé boots, these boots are kind of old but they will always remain relevant in my closet.

If you're like me, I'm not one to walk out of the house in workout clothes. I workout and immediately shower and change; however, lately I've been noticing more and more women walking around every day in active wear. So this is where SOLOW comes into the picture. My mom recently started collaborating with an activewear line called SOLOW, but what's great about SOLOW is it is designed to be worn from gym to street. I know I know, it's my mom blahblahblah, but I honestly really like their pieces. This windbreaker reminds me of a leather jacket, and these leggings are slouchy and cropped and hardly look like workout leggings! A Bowie Halloween

Halloween is just 3 days away!! I'm so excited, Halloween is my favorite holiday. I'm one of those people who plans 6 months ahead what I'm going to be for Halloween. Nevertheless, I always end up picking costumes that aren't sold at a costume store. I usually have to put them together myself or have my mom make them. In the past some of my Halloween costumes have been Joan Jett, Honey Boo Boo, a Glam Rocker and Little Miss Sunshine. For this costume, I actually already had all of the pieces sitting in my closet, including the wig! The silver jumpsuit I purchased off Amazon last year for a disco party, the silver glitter boots are one of my favorites in my closet, and the wig was a blonde wig my mom used for her halloween costume a couple years ago that I just spray painted orange.

What do skulls, studs, and hello kitty all have in common? I don't know, but I like it. On Friday I went to the Hello Kitty Exhibition at the Japanese American Museum and I loved it (hence the hello kitty temp tattoo). I've always kind of been a bit of a contradiction. Most of my closet is black matter, but I also have a hello kitty fetish. I don't know, I mean hello kitty can be punk right?

This outfit has been my go-to outfit lately. I'm a big fan of wearing leotards as tops (especially when they snap at the bottom so it's not a whole ordeal to go to the bathroom). I'm also in awe of my new mini Zara purse. It's so cute and small, yet it still fits my phone (granted I don't have the 6 plus). What's your go-to outfit?

After a long and agonizing search for Kat Von D's blue "Poe" lipstick, I finally have one! It was the last one left in Sephora, which made it feel all that much more satisfying. I celebrated for a little bit and then reluctantly found this awesome blue faux leather jacket from Forever 21. Shh it's totally not Forever 21, but it is... Even though I really didn't need another leather jacket, I've never had a BLUE one.... As a result, this outfit was inspired by my very blue shopping spree I had this week, but not in a smurf way... more like a blue meanie way. Whatever that means....

Another sunny day in LA! The perfect time to pull out your favorite shorts and go out and about. Today I went to Downtown LA to check out some of the trade shows in the design spaces (It was SO hard not buying anything.) I decided to wear my new cut-out Frankie B. shorts with a band tee and Jeffrey Campbell booties as an easy sunny day outfit. Band tee's are my usual go-to item especially when I can't decide what to wear with shorts. NOTE: wear a band tee that you can name at least 3 songs from the bands! I chose one of my favorite bands The Black Keys (I've seen them live 3 times and they are great!) These Jeffrey Campbells were featured in one of my old posts, but they really can go with so many different outfits. I've also just been on a white shoe kick lately.

Crimson and Clover

This post is dedicated to one of my biggest style/musical influences (can you guess?) none other than JOAN JETT! I recently bought Joan Jett's "I Love Rock n' Roll" on vinyl and every time I look at it I get the urge to put on my pink blazer and a neck tie to attempt to look half as cool as Joan Jett. (If you don't know the photo I'm referencing, click here!) These photos were taken outside of one of my favorite record stores in LA called Freakbeat Records.

Although 80% of my closet consists of black matter, I do love a little pop of color (especially pink!). My mom also just made these awesome neck ties in a few different colors, and I'm kind of thinking of wearing them everyday.

One of my favorite scores from Wasteland was this Suzi Quatro concert tee. Suzi Quatro was a huge influence of Joan Jett, so naturally I love Suzi Quatro too. (Who's Suzi Quatro? click here... now do you want to be her? yeah me too.)

Last but not least, my Chloé boots. As you can imagine these are my prized possessions. I wear them probably way more than I should, but how can I help it? I begged for these for years and when I finally got them, I cried.

Metallic creepers, Pink bow

So I don't mean to brag, but it was dress weather today in LA... ANYWAYS! I always like mixing punk and girly things, hence how the pink metallic creepers and bow combination came to be. I was at first hesitant to buy these creepers, because I had no idea what I would pair them with. But my boyfriend bought these for me (round of applause for Keelan!) and I've actually worn them more times than I can count. I think the key is not to overplay the whole punk look, so I decided to pair them with a polka dot dress, bow, and my new favorite ray-ban club masters!

If you wear creepers, how do you do it? I feel like it's sometimes a challenge for a lot of people.

New York Dolls Dress, Leopard Coat

Criss-Cross Tights, Moto Boots

Do you ever have one of those days when you feel like you have absolutely nothing to wear? (even though I can hardly close my closet drawers, this happens to me every other day) Well as usual, I had one of those days. But I started to think about what helps me get out of this rut and I figured out that it helps to find one statement piece or just something new I want to wear and start from there. Once I find that piece, I can usually throw together an outfit around it. For me this was my new New York Dolls dress. After shuffling through my closet for quiet some time I decided to pair it with criss-cross tights, my every day glitter moto boots, and a giant leopard coat. Not sure how the leopard coat came last, but it did, and somehow I ended up pretty satisfied with this look.
