And if a silver metallic jacket wasn't enough, here's a silver metallic jumpsuit. I wore this jumpsuit for my David Bowie halloween costume this year, but I think it's going to be my new stage outfit. Why am I wearing a stage outfit? Well, to show off this awesome guitar. This guitar is called the "Wilshire Phant-o-matic" by Epiphone and it totally reminds me of something Joan Jett would use. I've been jonesing for a white guitar for a while and this one is super lightweight and has a small neck (helpful for me because I have the world's smallest hands). Thanks Gibson 90210 showroom for hooking me up and letting me visit your rad showroom!! The jumpsuit is something I ordered online and then cut off one sleeve to make even more David Bowie esque.

My whole life I grew up thinking I would never get a tattoo. My mom was very against tattoos. After my dog Chopper passed away, as a family we decided to get tattoos to commemorate him. At this point, it seemed as though all our moral values about tattoos had dissipated. Now, it was all about honoring Chopper who had been diagnosed with lymphoma two years prior and suffered through countless needle pokes and infusions of chemotherapy. The least we could do was endure a few needle pokes to honor his name and legacy as the toughest dog in town. This week, I got my second tattoo. It's a little lightening bolt on the middle finger of my right hand. I just felt like I wanted to write a post about why I got this tattoo and why I think people shouldn't be discouraged by other people to get tattoos. I understand tattoos are permanent. I understand that I'm young. But, for me, my tattoos are memories, inspiration, and self-expression (like fashion!). I will always remember I got this lightening bolt the week of my 21st birthday. I decided to get tattoos on my hands which are more difficult to cover than arm tattoos or ankle tattoos because I wanted them to be a sort of promise to myself. A promise that I shouldn't care if other people judge me based on my tattoos.  I shouldn't care what other people think (okay, I'll admit I asked my mom's approval first, but that's because I obviously trust her with my life and feel like she should have a say and I trust her and I do care what she thinks). I've struggled with this idea of caring about what other people think my whole life. My dad always told me you shouldn't care what other people think because you can't change what people think, regardless. I don't think tattoos are for everyone, and I understand that there is a religious factor for a lot of people; but, the truth of the matter is, it's your decision and who cares what other people think. I'm not trying to encourage anyone to get tattoos, just explain the meaning behind mine. Here's a couple pictures of my tattoos, I'd love to see some of yours too.

Where do I even start with introducing Taryn? Well, you all probably recognize her from her role as Pennsatucky in the new hit Netflix series Orange is the New Black, or from Hustle & Flow, Crossroads, 8 Mile, Sons of Anarchy, Cleveland Abduction, and so much more. You definitely know who this bombshell is! Not only is Taryn a super talented actress, but she's a singer, DJ, and fashion designer! (Check out her new single called "All The Way"). My family and I are definitely fans of Orange is the New Black and we can't wait for season 3 to come out this Friday (June 12th)! Always remain teachable. There is so much knowledge out there and we don't know it all so I like that one :)

Keepin it casual this week... I just got this new LNA top and I love it. Their tops are so comfortable, but still cool. I don't know about you, but for some reason I always have a hard time shopping for tops or even just finding cute ones in my closet. My drawer is busting open from all my band tees, yet I can't find any top I want to wear. I like LNA because their tops are basic, yet still have a cool flare that can stand alone with a pair of jeans. This top could be dressed up with a blazer or dressed down with a denim or leather jacket. As for these See By Chloé boots, these boots are kind of old but they will always remain relevant in my closet.

Who's your style/music icon?

Hmm I don't really have one to be honest, but Debbie Harry is a babe. 

Who/what inspired you to do what you do?

I've been writing ever since I can remember. I was always writing little poems as a kid, and when I was 14 I started playing guitar and putting the poems to music. My Dad taught me my first few guitar chords and how to read tabs. From there I started writing my own tunes. It wasn't until I was 17 though, when my dad came back from hawaii with a ukulele that I picked them up and really found my sound.  

Where is your favorite place to shop?

I love Goodwill! My man found me a pair of Saint Laurent suit pants there for 10 bucks. 

What’s the last movie you saw?

This "horror" movie called Clown. Not very scary...hahah

Where is your favorite place to eat?
Mmm I love food so I have lots but the first place that comes to mind is this little hole in the wall mexican place called Cactus in Hollywood. Best mexican food evaaa.

Describe your perfect day.

To wake up, play my uke for a bit, then go on some sort of adventure! I love discovering new places.

It's been a while since a traditional outfit post, but why stick to the traditional anyway? This photo set is from a photo shoot I did last month inspired by none other than Saint Laurent! I love Saint Laurent for their 70's rocker style. From wide rimmed hats to glitter boots, I'm a fan. Now unfortunately for all of us, Saint Laurent isn't in everyone's price range; however, there's ways to achieve the look without breaking your bank. Remember good ole glam rock?
