If you're like me, I'm not one to walk out of the house in workout clothes. I workout and immediately shower and change; however, lately I've been noticing more and more women walking around every day in active wear. So this is where SOLOW comes into the picture. My mom recently started collaborating with an activewear line called SOLOW, but what's great about SOLOW is it is designed to be worn from gym to street. I know I know, it's my mom blahblahblah, but I honestly really like their pieces. This windbreaker reminds me of a leather jacket, and these leggings are slouchy and cropped and hardly look like workout leggings! The shoe strike has been lifted! Oh, and hi again! I had a pretty successful Christmas/Hanukkah, as I scored these Saint Laurent glitter booties. I'm really not much of a designer snob, but Saint Laurent is always my weakness. Saint Laurent's collections are so glam rock lately and my shoes fall right into that category! Can't you just see Ziggy Stardust rocking these? (happy birthday David Bowie!) As for the rest of the outfit, I decided to keep the shoes as the focal point by wearing all black. I know a lot of people might feel like they can't pull of pink glitter boots, but I think the key to any statement piece is to keep the rest of the outfit simple. Lately, I've been reading a collection of Edgar Allen Poe poems which kind of inspired this black coat/cloak thing I've got going on. The coat also reminds me of something Marc Bolan might wear.

Halloween is just 3 days away!! I'm so excited, Halloween is my favorite holiday. I'm one of those people who plans 6 months ahead what I'm going to be for Halloween. Nevertheless, I always end up picking costumes that aren't sold at a costume store. I usually have to put them together myself or have my mom make them. In the past some of my Halloween costumes have been Joan Jett, Honey Boo Boo, a Glam Rocker and Little Miss Sunshine. For this costume, I actually already had all of the pieces sitting in my closet, including the wig! The silver jumpsuit I purchased off Amazon last year for a disco party, the silver glitter boots are one of my favorites in my closet, and the wig was a blonde wig my mom used for her halloween costume a couple years ago that I just spray painted orange.

What do skulls, studs, and hello kitty all have in common? I don't know, but I like it. On Friday I went to the Hello Kitty Exhibition at the Japanese American Museum and I loved it (hence the hello kitty temp tattoo). I've always kind of been a bit of a contradiction. Most of my closet is black matter, but I also have a hello kitty fetish. I don't know, I mean hello kitty can be punk right? 

This outfit has been my go-to outfit lately. I'm a big fan of wearing leotards as tops (especially when they snap at the bottom so it's not a whole ordeal to go to the bathroom). I'm also in awe of my new mini Zara purse. It's so cute and small, yet it still fits my phone (granted I don't have the 6 plus). What's your go-to outfit?

Black Jeffrey Campbell Boots- Wasteland

Summer has come to an end, but I'm still in denial. Granted, it's easy to be in denial when it's still 98 degrees outside (hence the shorts).  Lately,  I've been on a shopping spree. I don't know if it's the end of the season that inspired me or what, but I've decided that since I have such a hard time shopping I was going to make a list of 3 things I need to construct a cute outfit. Here was my list:

1) Black every day boots with a heel. I'm not one to wear massive heels all the time, but being short, a little heel that is comfortable and easy to walk in is really nice. Plus, I really believe they make my legs look longer and shapelier. I found these perfect Jeffrey Campbell boots at Wasteland.

2) A bowler hat. A little while ago, my dad was playing a show and asked me to hold his hat for a second, naturally I took a selfie with it and then decided that I wanted a hat like that of my own. I kind of forgot about it and then a couple weeks ago I asked my mom where that hat was and if I could have it and she told me that it was my dad's wedding hat. So I backed off. I made a trip out to Topshop at the Grove and found a hat very similar to my dad's for just $10. I was sold!

3) Lastly, I always need new tops. I had a credit on Nastygal.com, and they always have really cute tops. I was super excited when I found this top with the tie. It could be dressed up or dressed down which is exactly what I needed. I mean pretty much all I own is band tees, so it was about time. 

All together I created this outfit. Sometimes I think it makes shopping more fun when you have a list of items to look for. I feel like it gives me more of a purpose, and I get excited when I find the perfect match. What have you been looking for lately?

After a long and agonizing search for Kat Von D's blue "Poe" lipstick, I finally have one! It was the last one left in Sephora, which made it feel all that much more satisfying. I celebrated for a little bit and then reluctantly found this awesome blue faux leather jacket from Forever 21. Shh it's totally not Forever 21, but it is... Even though I really didn't need another leather jacket, I've never had a BLUE one.... As a result, this outfit was inspired by my very blue shopping spree I had this week, but not in a smurf way... more like a blue meanie way. Whatever that means....
